CONVICTION

Hello friends,it's been a while. I'm just going to jump right in to telling you about what's going on in my life: lately I've been feeling very convicted. Recently my family and I decided to go off sugar for a while, and it's hard! Especially for me, because I love sugar as much as the next guy. My love of sugar makes it even harder.

This is where conviction comes into play: I've been feeling convicted to eat healthier and live in a healthier manner. But all I want is sugar! Sugar? Yes, please. In all seriousness, I have found living a healthy life hard because of my extreme love of sugar.

Do you have a certain area in your life where you are feeling convicted as well as tempted? If so here are some bible verses that might help:

When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. PSALMS 38:18 ->

If you are feeling convicted to do something or act upon something you have already done you most definitely should. If you don't you will be carrying around a heavy conviction brick for a while.

Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the apostles, "Brothers what shall we do?" ACTS 2:37->

If you are feeling convicted to do something and you're not sure how to follow through with it, seek wise counsel and ask for help. The best place to seek wise counsel is a bible. If you don't have one, you can also look up conviction bible verses on the internet.

I know it's hard to break bad habits or temptations. I know it's hard to listen to the conviction your feeling but it is definitely worth it. Friends this is my battle:  conviction vs. temptation; sugar vs. a healthy life style. I need God to reveal the winner of my battle, but if I'm honest i know who He will reveal. Now it is just up to me to pick the winning side. What side will you pick this week?

WITH LOVE, JILLY

JUST DANCE

Hello, friends! Last night I went to my youth coach's dance concert. She is a member of her high school dance team. She was absolutely amazing!  Every dance she did was beautifully put together and enjoyable to watch. However, some of the other girls' dances weren't as appropriate.

I know what it's like to put on a dance concert. In fact, I used to be a dancer when I was 10. My point is, I know it's not easy! I know these girls worked super hard on all the costumes and choreography. But, in my opinion, you can still dance in appropriate clothes! My mom went to a christian dance production a couple of years ago with a friend. Their costumes were very appropriate. They wore leotards, tights, and beautiful long skirts. Still beautiful, right? Last night  there was a group of hip hop  dancers wearing, crop tops and short little booty shorts. That doesn't sound appropriate does it?

It made me sad. These girls thought they had to wear super tight costumes to be able to dance. I just don't believe that's true. I know what you're thinking. Jill, where are you going with this? Honestly I didn't know at first but now I think I do. In the world we live in it is very hard to not fit in, to stand out, and to be unique. Friends, it is because of the world we live in we need to stand out, be unique, and not fit in. If I was to always sink down to the world's standards I would completely lose myself and forget about what's really important: my inner beauty. What's on the outside doesn't matter as long as you are beautiful on the inside. In order to be beautiful on the inside you have to have a pure heart and confidence. What makes you feel beautiful on the inside is entirely up to you.

 Find something that makes you feel confident, pure, and beautiful on the inside and do more of that. One last thing: to be truly beautiful is to surround yourself with friends that encourage you and lift you up. I think every one is beautiful on the inside, you just need to be willing to get out the shovel and dig.

That is me and my youth coach, Ally, after her performance.->>->>->>->>->>->>->>->>

SO WE DO NOT LOSE OUR HEART<3
THOUGH OUR OUTER SELF IS WASTING AWAY, OUR INNER SELF IS BEING RENEWED DAY BY DAY->

{LOVE}

And you must love the LORD your GOD with all your heart,all your soul, and all your strength.                                   DEUTERONOMY 6:5->>

Hello again it's me, your good friend, Bean. I'm going to write a short a devotional before jumping into my first topic and tutorial. Over the next 12 days I'm going to take you through the fruits of the spirit.The first one is none other than love. When people think of love they think of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift and her horrible love life, or a winged baby flying in the air...

This Is Me

Hello friends! I'm going to be writing all of my blog posts as if we were already good friends. My name is Jill Surrett, not Jillian, just Jill. However, I like to be called Jilly Bean or just Bean. Hence, my blog is Bean's Simple Life. I'm 12 years old and happen to be a very devoted Christ follower living in Mesa, AZ. I love Netflix, candy, Pinterest, girly things, and Chris Evans (he plays Captain America in the Avengers movie.) I pretty much grew up Christian and boy am I blessed.I have been through a lot. I can't imagine  going through it all without knowing Jesus. I don't know how I would have managed.

I have a lot of influential people in my life, one of whom is my dad. His name is Erik Surrett. He is a pastor at my awesome church: CCV, Christ's Church of the Valley. He wasn't always a pastor. In fact, he use to be an atheist -a person who doesn't believe in God. He was changed like a great missionary in the bible named Paul. I encourage you to read Paul's story in Acts 9:1-31. My dad was given an amazing gift like everyone who has chosen to follow Jesus: he was given the gift of faith and the Holy spirit.

My mom is another influential person in my life. She is one of,  if not the most Godly woman I know. She is definitely a very strong influence in my spiritual life .

Last but not least, meet my best friend Emma, Em for short. She is my 15 year old sister and she has craved simplicity in her life for a while now.  I think when we started homeschooling again she finally got that.

 <that's me and emma on her 15th birthday this year

When a lot of people think about homeschooling they think about weird kids, well we're not weird kids if that makes you feel better. Homeschooling is just something we do in order to keep our priorities straight: God first, then everything else. Almost all of our curriculum is Christian based.

 What I'm going to be talking about is mostly Godly beauty, staying beautiful from the inside out. I also will be doing a little devotional each day, product reviews, hair and make-up tutorials, some outfits of the day and where I get some of my favorite clothing pieces.

 I'm trying to reach young girls, or anyone who has maybe felt like they're never good enough. Let me tell you that you have always been beyond good enough in God's eyes. Before you go, I want to leave with one last thought:

I PRAISE YOU BECAUSE I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE.
WONDERFUL ARE YOUR WORKS;
<MY SOUL KNOWS IT FULL WELL> PSALMS 139:14

{Friends you are beautiful inside and out, don't ever forget it}

Love from, Bean
